Yep, bring in the blue…or the jade! That’s what I’m already dreaming up for HIS room! What I’m not dreaming about is how different it’s going to be raising a boy! I can’t even wrap my head around it! I’ve heard they’re easier (are they really?) but we’ll just see about that. I guess after having twins everything and anything is easier though, right? ;)
I had this great idea on how to announce whichever sex we were baking and it involved the four of us sitting like ducks in a row and just getting one long photograph of our feet upon the bottoms of which would be written (there’s 8 feet fyi), “I t s a G I R L” or “I t s a B O Y !”, but Anthony Realist Tobin told me it wouldn’t work. “You’re never going to get the girls to sit still for that.” Maybe he was right but I told him to humor me and try it…well, we didn’t get that far so I whipped up the above little pictograph for you. :)
So, that’s that. It’s a boy folks. I’m still a little shocked, so very excited, and just a tad nervous at the adventures he’ll bring. :)
. . .
P.S. So how crazy is it that Camille (Life In Mod), Mary (Atelier), and I are all due within a month of each other with boys?! Must be in the water… Anyone else?
Congrats Sheena!!! I felt the same way when we found out we were expected a Sully and not a Sally after having Mia. We knew what to do with girls and were scared of the unknown boy business. But it's been THE BEST! I love having both dynamics in our house :) Our boys were easier babies, as toddlers they were into everything, and they're pretty easy going now that they're older. I specifically remember holding Sully shortly after he was born and thinking how much I didn't even realize how much he was everything I wanted until he came. Isn't that like every gift in life? We're afraid of the unknown but God always gives the perfect gift. Can't wait for your little man to join those sweet beans of yours!
ReplyDeleteJust pray that you don't have 3-4 boys in a row. That's where it might get a little nutso. My one sister has 4 boys 6 and under (she already has both feet in heaven I think), and my other sister has three boys 10, 8, 5, and a 2 year old girl, with #5 coming in September (she has both feet in heaven too). The first sister I told you about ... well ... she goes nutso on a daily basis, but she sure does love her boys. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, I have 10 nephews, and I love them all to pieces. I've gotten peed on by a few of them. No big deal. :) You'll be just fine! Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteHaha! I love how you said your sis' have two feet in heaven. :) That's cute and you're probably right! I didn't know you have 10 nephews either!!! That's awesome!
DeleteOne of each here - the girl is already in that 'tween' phase that didn't exist when I was little, but now I know what it means, and have already pre-apologized on behalf of the universe to my sister that she will have two of them going through it 19 months apart.
ReplyDeleteI find our boy so much easier... later onset of everything (a more reasonable time I think), and more laid back, less friend drama, I also think his personality is much closer to mine so I just "get" him better. My husband keeps looking to me when the girl is having a moment and even I, who has "been through this" and "should understand", am befuddled.
I think with twin girls, you deserve a boy as the next one.
Ha! Oh the "tween" phase...real excited about that...nope.
DeleteCongratulations!! Baby boys are such a joy! I remember when we were waiting for the ultrasound to find out the twins' genders, I had a moment of panic thinking "What if they're girls?? I'll have no idea what to do!" So I can relate to not being able to wrap your head around the difference. :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! We have two boys are they are just awesome! :) I might be a bit partial but I really like them!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!!! I KNEW it had to be a boy with your morning sickness :) I'm so excited to see all your DIY bowtie tutorials for him ;)
ReplyDeleteCongrats! That'll be so fun for you all!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! So exciting!
ReplyDeletecongrats! Boys are super fun!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kristin!! Glad you think so and good to hear from someone who knows!!! Calms my nerves...a little. ;)
DeleteLove boys, they are such interesting people, Congrats! I'm 1.5wks ahead of you but we decided not to find out what gender baby is. So I might be and I might not be having a boy.
ReplyDeleteYay! I'm so excited for you! You are feeling exactly how I did when I found out about Sophie: excited and little bit scared! haha You're a great mama so you'll be just fine! :)
ReplyDeleteI just discovered your blog from linking over through Three Ladies and Their Gent. Congrats on your little boy. How exciting to have a little man on the way to join your twin girls.
ReplyDeleteI'm currently giving my blog a face lift, so your post about great sites with free blogging info was great to come across. Thanks for sharing your finds.
Our Little Miracles
Thanks Jenn!! It'll be fun! Maybe not lacking with a little dress-up, boy included, but fun! Happy you found the design links! Hope they're helpful!
DeleteThanks for stopping by!!
SO EXCITING!! Congrats sweet girl:)
ReplyDeleteAH! I didn't know Mary is having a boy too...! This is more exciting now. We'll have our boys club then. Isn't she due right around the same time as well?
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!! Don't be anxious. Little boys are so super fun and steal their mothers' hearts with all their silly boy antics. But what I wanted to tell you is that in the beginning, all newborns are the same (ok-there's circumcision care to learn, but that's easy. I promise.) he'll eat, sleep and poop- just like your girls did. By the time he is old enough for you to realize that he is different from your girls, you'll have long-since fallen in love with him...and you'll notice that that anxiety is gone. God bless!
ReplyDeleteExciting.......congrats dear..........:) love is everything
